Forgivness: A Decision and a Process (and sometimes Reconciliation)
Peter asked, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” -Matthew 18:21-22.
“Let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kind-hearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil, or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for this very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.” -1 Peter 3:8-9
I Forgiveness requires a Decision (willful choice that sets the victim free)
II Forgiveness is a Process (rarely once and done since we don’t forget)
III Forgiveness does not always require Reconciliation
