At DHEFC (Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church), we're always excited to welcome new friends. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Whether you are a believer, a seeker, or a skeptic, we welcome you. Our services aim to be worshipful and hospitable for each other and our guests.
Here's what you can expect when you come to either our 8:45 or 11:00 a.m. service.
Our church is located at 28 Foxhurst Road, and parking is located in front, on the side and also behind the church. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door (Side entrance for Sanctuary, Rear entrance for Contemporary service in Multi-Purpose Room (MPR).
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, dress is casual. There is no specific dress or behavior code. Once you walk through the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
The Music style is more traditional (hymns) at our 8:45 AM service and contemporary (worship songs) at our 11:00 AM service. At either service you'll be invited to join us as we sing and worship; sermons are typically 30-40 minutes, total service length on average being 1 hour and 15 minutes. The first Sunday of the month we will typically share Communion.
When you walk in, find one of our Ushers and introduce yourself. They're usually stationed at the doors and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and Sunday school rooms if you have kids. Our ushers can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary or Multi-Purpose room, and the fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers.
If you’re new here, we would love to meet you! We're looking forward to saying hello in person!
