At DHEFC (Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church), we're always excited to welcome new friends. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Whether you are a believer, a seeker, or a skeptic, we welcome you. Our services aim to be worshipful and hospitable for each other and our guests.
Here's what you can expect when you come to our 10:00 a.m. service.
Our church is located at 28 Foxhurst Road, and parking is located in front, on the side and behind the church. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the main door (Side entrance has a ramp) Our service is currently in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), easiest access is through the door in the back of the Church - there is parking in the back.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, dress is casual. There is no specific dress or behavior code. Once you walk through the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
The Music style is a blend of Hymns and Contemporary at our service. You'll be invited to join us as we sing and worship; sermons are typically 30-40 minutes, total service length on average being 1 hour and 15 minutes. The first Sunday of the month we will typically share Communion.
When you walk in, find one of our Ushers and introduce yourself. They're usually stationed at the doors and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and Kids Church rooms if you have kids. Our ushers can also point you to the restrooms. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers.
If you’re new here, we would love to meet you! We're looking forward to saying hello in person!
