Leadership
Our aim is to keep Christ at the center of our church, as well as, to support each other and hold one another accountable as we reach out to our community. Each ministry in our church is directly overseen by a deacon or deaconess who is supported by an elder or pastor overseeing that sphere of ministry. Our elders and pastors seek to provide vision and unity between the various ministries. To learn more about what it means to be a partner with our church please take a look below.
We look forward to meeting you and serving alongside you!

Family: Married to Judith Marshall
I love serving alongside other Christians and being able to pour specifically into the students of our church! I was born into a Christian family and was saved at a young age. God continued to grow me and shape me throughout my life as I went to church, studied His Word, was surrounded by other believers, and more. As I went through Middle and High School, I began to feel God calling me to serve in ministry, and eventually I felt called specifically to youth ministry as I saw how God was using my gifts and talents in that area. Additionally, I felt called to pour into the lives of teens who may have gone through similar things as myself. There were some very hard times for me during these years, and there were also a lot of joyous moments. It is my desire to come alongside teens in both the hard times and the good times, pointing them to Christ through it all. God eventually brought me to Lancaster Bible College where I earned a degree in Youth and Young Adult Ministries, as well as, a degree in Biblical Studies. While there I was able to continue to grow in my understanding of the Bible, while also learning how to effectively lead in youth ministry. I was also blessed to meet the love of my life while at college, and Judith and I were married on June 25, 2021. I’m so glad that Judith and I get to serve in ministry alongside one another, and I look forward to everything that God continues to have planned!

My wife Kathleen and I have attended here since 2002. We have 4 children, 2 daughter-in-laws, 1 son-in-law- and 4 grandchildren.
I came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in 1994 through personal Bible reading and the timely preaching of Andy Stanley.
I’ve served at DHEFC as a Trustee, Deacon and Elder. I’ve both taught and attended numerous Bible Studies and have had the privilege of preaching on a number of occasions.
I’ve served as an Elder since 2007.
My outside interests include Motorcycling, Boating and Shooting.
My primary income earning career is Marine Contracting.
My favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:8 -10 “For it is by grace you are saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
I’d enjoy connecting with you.

Elder of Fellowship & Benevolence

Kurt was born in Queens, New York in 1944 and raised in Elmont, Long Island. Although confirmed in the Lutheran Church at age 13, he had little interest in “church.” He and Susan Cammaroto, high-school sweethearts, were married in 1967.
Unlike Kurt (at the time), Sue was a Christian. Kurt had always admired her faith in Christ but he kept his distance from it. One Sunday morning, shortly after they were married, Kurt, in what he considered a gracious gesture, offered to escort her to nearby local Baptist Church. [Since Sue had been raised in the Baptist Church, he thumbed through the phone book to find the closest one to their apartment.]
At the end of the service, the pastor “ambushed” them at the church exit (no surprise to Sue) and arranged to visit them in their apartment on the following Wednesday evening. That night the pastor led Kurt down the “Romans Road.” Kurt readily accepted Christ on the spot, without equivocation, without resistance (a big surprise for Sue). Kurt was 22 years old and has since served the Lord primarily in Bible teaching, musical groups, and various leadership positions.
Kurt received his bachelor’s and masters’ degrees from Clarkson University and Stony Brook University. He was an electrical engineer for three years at Hazeltine Corporation (Greenlawn, NY), then a professor of mathematics for 16 years at Suffolk Community College (Selden, NY) and, since 1986, an executive of FONAR Corporation (STAND-UP MRI) in Melville, NY.
Kurt and Sue, who have four married children and eight grandchildren, have had the joy of seeing all of their children living for the Lord, and teaching their children to do the same.
Kurt and Sue have been attending Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church since 2012.
A favorite Bible verse:
“Trust in the Lord with Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6

I have been attending Dix Hills since 1994 and my wife Laurie since 2000. Between us we have been blessed with 5 children and 7 grandchildren. I surrendered my life over to Jesus back in 1977 and have continued my personal growth through the continual reading of his word.
I have served at Dix Hills as a Trustee for 14 years, a Deacon for over 9 years and now as an Elder.
I have been retired from a major New York Utility since 2013 and currently enjoy working on projects around the home, family and church.
Some of the things that keep me busy are working with my hands, taking walks with my wife and playing softball.
My life verse is Joshua 1:8-9 "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Partnership
"I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now."
~Philippians 1:3-5
We want everyone in our church to be involved in making disciples and reaching out to our community. If you are a Christian who has been attending our church and have a desire to become more connected, partnership may be the next step for you! By becoming a church partner, you are saying that you desire to commit to our local church in attendance, prayer, gifts, and service. It is our hope to have unity and accountability with our partners, as not only do we expect our partners to be serving in a ministry of our church, but also prayerfully to vote on important decisions. If you'd like more information, please reach out to a Pastor or Elder today.
